The central High Street looking west. The buildings to the left are virtually unchanged. On the right all that remains is the White Hart recently renamed "The Sir John Franklin" (with the red roof), beyond which can be seen the Roman Catholic Church. The houses beyond the church were demolished to create Everard's "tank farm". This in turn has been replaced by Sara Crescent. (Sara was one of Everard's Barges)  In the fore ground on the right, the walls and gardens were more recently occupied by the entrance to Everard's Yard and in turn by the present houses.
