This concerns the image on page 9 of the Planning and Design Statement Nov 2006

The image on our web site is reproduction of an original work by Bryan Parry, based on a image
drawn by H. B. Wilson engraved by J. Swain that appeared in
The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, July 31 1886

Before our original work commenced we needed to determine whether the engraving was still covered by copyright.
We discovered the following:
H B Wilson was Harrington Burton Wilson  (1843-1909) In the 1881 Census he was recorded as an "Artist Marine"
J Swain was likely either Joseph Swain (1820-1909) or his son Joseph Blomeley Swain (1845-1931)
Joseph Swain the elder was regarded as one of the top engravers of his time and worked with many famous artists.
The copyright remained in place until 70 years after the named creator's death.

The image above appeared on the website in Sep 2003 until Mar 2004
 until
the design of the pages was changed and an image of a slightly smaller size substituted.

The image above is taken from the Greenhithe Marina Ltd document.
On comparing the two images that appeared on our web site,
the version used is the earlier and therefore copied before Mar 2004

The small section on the left is from the original fragile document with the text from
the reverse page bleeding through and dirt on the front spoiling the image.
The section on the right is the same  section reinterpreted by me to maintain the impact of the original.

Higher resolution copy never shown on the internet before.
